Soul Eater: BLACKSTAR COUNTER-STRIKES HQS Statue BY TSUME

Black☆Star

This arrogant and bragging ninja is a meister AND an assassin. His partner, Tsubaki, is on the contrary very shy and quiet. Together, they are a golden pai, maybe the strongest in Shubusen.

Black☆Star is pictured attacking, launching Tsubaki who assumed the shape of a giant shuriken. This diorama is inspired from the first fight between Mifune in the second episode of the show. That’s why the base shows a dozen of swords stuck in it.

Following Maka’s Faith, Black☆Star counter-strikes is the second Soul Eater statue to enter our HQS by Tsume range.

Slightly crouched and bent, Black☆Star is holding Tsubaki in Shuriken mode with his right hand. His pose is dynamic, in motion and the vivid colors used express the mood of the character, always full of energy. His face displays his will to make his opponent regret for having under-estimated him.

Paint wise, subtle gradients emphasize the impressive muscles of an assassin who trains himself every day. The different textures (gloss, mat, metallic…) highlight each part of his outfit.

Background

Black☆Star is fighting Mifune on a stoned floor and his opponent throws on him a « rain of swords » which will be used during the fight. In order to try and beat Mifune, Black☆Star commands Tsubaki to change in shuriken mode.

Black☆Star is surrounded by ten katana swords, meticulously sculpted and painted. These swords engage the base for a great visual result. The floor is with a stone tiling effect and Tsubaki, in the shape of a giant shuriken, is very finely sculpted and painted.

To achieve Black☆Star motion, a cloud of dust has been made in translucent resin slightly painted. The final result is stunning and even the most demanding fans of Soul Eater should like it.

Base

As we did with Maka’s Faith, the gray & mate base displays the typical colored band of our HQS by Tsume range. White and blue, the glossy stripe on the base is really highlighting the statue and the nameplate, which of course has a metallic effect and the symbol of Soul Eater.

SOUL EATER: MAKA’S FAITH “HQS” Statue by TSUME

This statue pictures a key scene from the episode 7 of the anime: Maka entering the church where she will meet and fight Crona. She came in Italy for a different goal, but she was dragged in this location by the strange wavelength of Crona. Despite she feels the hidden danger, she decides to enter this church, armed with Soul, firmly determined to unveil the mystery lying here.

Maka

Maka is in the middle of an attack move. This pose is dynamic and willful as it expresses even in the movement of Maka’s long coat, symbolizing in a perfect way her determination and her will to always forge ahead. You can also notice her look which translates her confidence and her faith in her capabilities and the ones of her partner, Soul !

Maka’s character is very detailed, from the pattern on her tie to the buckle of her shoes, also her very specific eyebrows that are the trademark of Atsushi Ohkubo’s drawing in his manga.

Base

The base where Maka stands is black/grey with a floor texture that represents the paving of the church. Behind Maka, you will find the gigantic stained glass that casts over her its threatening shadow.

This stained glass, entirely translucent can be adorned with a hidden lamp behind. This way, the light will cross the stained glass, casting multicolor beams… thus creating a mysterious and hypnotic atmosphere over the diorama.

Finally, on the plate displayed on the base, you can notice the reproduction of the Soul Eater logo. The color theme of this base is the last touch of a set designed to create a unique and marvelous cachet on this statue.

The characters

Meet Yôichi Hiruma – the sadistic and charismatic leader of the team, Ryôkan Kurita – the gigantic lineman (defensive tackle/ center) and Sena Kobayakawa, Deimon’s running-back whose nickname entitled the manga: Eye Shield 21!

Each one of the three characters is pictured in a pose which translates his position and its temper: Hiruma, a grin on the face, seems to be giving his instructions to his mates, while Kurita uses his stature to protect Sena who is obviously running like a bat out of hell!

This new statue shows the new and spectacular progression of our HQS by Tsume range.

Hiruma is standing in the background, holding the ball at arm’s length. He seems to be giving his instructions while his predatory smile suggests how far he entrusts his teammates with victory.

Kurita, both feet firmly planted on the floor, arms extended horizontally with the palms facing forward in order to stop any threat that would goes for Sena… his face displays the strength of his determination to do his job no matter what.

Sena is represented running. Going forward, he seems about to jump out of this statue. His fierce look aiming the spectator emphasizes the energy of this piece, especially as the uniforms are meticulously reproduced. You can tell the different textures of fabrics by its look. Icing on the cake, this piece comes with two different heads for Sena’s statue so you can choose whether you want to show him with his helmet or not!

Background

The three characters are standing on a part of the Christmas Bowl field. Two things only trouble the green grass: a white marking on the front of the base and the dust cloud raised by the fast course of Eye shield in its dash to victory!

The grass of the field is accurately reproduced with a great texture effect and a simple yet stunning paint job. The dust cloud crosses the base from back to front, highlighting the impressive speed Devil Bats running back is capable of.

Base

The black base displays typical of our HQS by Tsume statues is exalted with our usual nameplate that displays the team name. Indeed, this time the name is embossed and gets a stunning glossy paint job, the exact same one you will find on the 3D bat from the Deimon Devil Bats emblem!
